The Big Issue – ‘Hard Times’ exhibtion

Last night was the incredibly moving private view for Hard Times, a specially commissioned exhibition by evocative photographer Paul Wenham-Clarke on the realities on homelessness across the UK.

The location was the stunning St-Martin’s-in-the-Fields and guests included John Bird, founder of the Big Issue and the infectiously enthusiastic Simon Callow, each giving stirring speeches about the values of combatting homelessness and aiding people to get back on their feet.

Special tribute was paid to the late Peter Welch, whose dedication to the exhibition Hard Times helped make it a reality.

‘The exhibition opens at St Martin-in-the-Fields in London’s Trafalgar Square on Thursday March 3rd and runs until June 30th in the landmark church’s beautifully refurbished public reception area, with a private view taking place Thursday evening. The historic venue was also the site of The Big Issue’s launch in September 1991, hence it makes a fitting venue for this anniversary celebration.’
