Alien Nation – The Art of Blending in

Alien Nation is the brainchild of Jenny Theolin and Michelle Mulholland, founders of Soapbox events. It’s an epic show which has run from March to April at Great Western Studios packed full of music, workshops, literary readings and whole lot of art.

The works are all inspired by George Mike’s book ‘How to be an Alien’, a delightful little book which affectionately pokes fun at British traits and foibles in very a sweet way. So much so that it has most people in stitches.  Packing the show full of work in such a wide range of media was a very clever move, as everywhere you look there’s something to catch the eye.  From photography, painting, collage and furniture, there’s literally something for everyone.

And tonight is no exception!

This evening from 7pm at Alien Nation is M1GRATION: March of the Aliens music night -

A unique collaboration between urban artist PIKY and Sheffield bands The Tivoli and The Cartels.

Rising artist PIKY curates/creates a GIG in a GALLERY that will bring ‘alien entertainers’ to London – and bring the ‘Alien Nation’ event to a fitting climax.

Another inspired use of an amazing space, and a wonderful end to an epic show. A hearty congratulations to Soapbox events for pulling off such a successful event.

And, if you haven’t seen it there’s still time.  The event runs until 29th April, Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm at Great Western Studios, 65 Alfred Road, London W2 5EU
